The US government's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), a disbanded program that no longer exists, had proposed bombing the moon with nuclear bombs.

But why do that?

Well, it's not like throwing bombs on the moon on its entire surface. The moon is a natural satellite, a round object.

Throwing nuclear bombs all over its surface is like throwing small fireworks at an anthill. If the anthill is strong, the only thing you can do is create damage to the anthill. But if you put the same fireworks inside the anthill, it will explode in a way and you will destroy everything.

The same is with the Moon, to destroy it, the nuclear bombs must be inside, not falling directly on the surface.

But I don't think there is anyone who wants to destroy the Moon, right?

Correctly, AATIP did not even think about destroying the Moon, but rather about creating a tunnel through its center.

It's a crazy idea, but of course, the people from AATIP also had a reason to want to do that. And this seems as crazy as the idea itself.

The program believed that there were metals much lighter than steel in the center of the moon, but metals that would withstand it.

In short, they believed that there were much lighter metals on Moon that could be much stronger than those on Earth.

There is no official scientific evidence that there is such a thing in the center of the moon, but AATIP has spent a lot of money on an illogical experiment.

They wanted to pierce the moon itself using thermonuclear explosives.

It could have affected the Moon a lot through this experiment, which could have affected us because the Moon is the Earth's natural satellite.

Even though this program wanted to bomb the moon and had other weird ideas about wormholes that could be traversed through the cosmos, stargates, and UFOs, the US government and especially the government agency NASA did not bomb, and probably will not bomb the moon.

They don't want that, especially since NASA will send more spacecraft from the Artemis program to the moon to establish a long-term human presence on the surface of Earth's natural satellite.
