An ISS team returns to Earth tonight. See live here

News! An ISS team of a Japanese billionaire and two other colleagues will return to Earth tonight. They have already been on the International Space Station (ISS) for 12 days. The landing of the ship is expected to be on December 19, 2021, at 22:18. EST (according to the announced local time) in the steppes of Kazakhstan. Yusaku Maezawa (Japanese billionaire), Yozo Hirano (video producer) and Alexander Misurkin (cosmonaut Roscosmos) are expected on Earth tonight. However, it is broadcast live on NASA TV, which you can watch above.

For the Russian cosmonaut, Misurkin is the third flight to the ISS, and for Maezawa, and Hirano is the first, given that they are a kind of "space tourists" on the ISS. The billionaire wanted such a trip on the ISS, so Virginia Space Adventures (the company that took him into space) offered him the chance to pay for this trip, and Maezawa paid for it and for Hirano. You may not know Virginia Space Adventures very well, and you may not have heard much about it. Not much has been said lately, as the company has not carried any people on the ISS since 2009. The company's "peak time" to send people to the ISS was between 2001 and 2009 when it sent 7 people to the ISS who paid for their tickets. Each was taken by personal ship on the ISS and only one went twice.

Thus, the company has so far executed 8 flights (to-from) the ISSk, and this is the 9th. But this was not only a spaceflight type space flight, it was also a flight that could help the living astronauts who do not yet know what it's like to stay on the ISS. For that, he should thank Hirano. He is the one who did a lot of research and documented the whole experience on the ISS, together with Maezawa. The researchers found their health story and their performance on the ISS during the 12 days of stationary.

In any case, if Hirano probably has enough of this flight and wants to take a break, Maezawa doesn't seem to have enough and wants to take a trip around the Moon, this time with the company of billionaire Elon Musk, SpaceX aboard the Starhip. But according to SpaceX, it still has to wait, because it will not be possible before 2023.
