News! CalTech astronomer Michael Brown has argued that a possible "ninth planet" may be outside on a smaller surface than initially thought. The whole discovery was made with astrophysicist Konstantin Batygin. They both said that the ninth planet is clearly after Neptune and is approx. 6 times the mass of the Earth.

Why is it thought to be 6 times larger than Earth (approx.)?

Because the existence of the Kuiper belt languishes Neptune and a lot of large objects and many orbiting there, they may be related to a very large celestial body, possibly a planet. The two said they would like to see the planet from Chile's large telescopes in the coming years. So far it has not been seen from Earth, in the sky, nor has it ever been seen by Hubble or other probes or satellites on Earth.

A possible existence of a ninth planet would mean that it is farther than the Sun and would automatically lead to the fact that the planet would increase the surface area of the Solar System. Hard to say if it will ever be discovered or if it really exists, but you never know. Especially since NASA's James Webb Telescope will be launched in December and can see many more things and much farther and deeper than Hubble, it could discover if there was a new planet.

However, even if it is not certain that there could be a ninth planet, the two (astronomer and astrophysicist) hope to find it.

We wish them continued success and hope that they will discover it.
