en-Disc that forms moons

22/07/2021

This image, taken with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA), in which ESO is a partner, shows the PDS 70 system, located nearly 400 light-years away and still in the process of being formed. The system features a star at its centre and at least two planets orbiting it, PDS 70b (not visible in the image) and PDS 70c, surrounded by a circumplanetary disc (the dot to the right of the star). The planets have carved a cavity in the circumstellar disc (the ring-like structure that dominates the image) as they gobbled up material from the disc itself, growing in size. It was during this process that PDS 70c acquired its own circumplanetary disc, which contributes to the growth of the planet and where moons can form. Credit: ALMA (ESO/NAOJ/NRAO)/Benisty et al.

Breaking news!

Researchers and scientists have discovered a round disk. The disk has the shape of the disk of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune or Jupiter. This is what this record looks like. In addition, this disk revolves around a planet.

But what makes it different is the fact that it is the first disk to revolve around a planet outside the Solar System. So far, opinions about such phenomena have been divided, but now it has been confirmed! Such a disk exists! He also set records and another proof that objects or bodies begged from outside the Solar System can be much larger than what we have here. This disk is approx. 498 times in diameter larger than diameter Saturn's rings!

The planet in it is of course an exoplanet! This exoplanet is called: PDS 70c. As we told you in the last article, the confirmation of the fact that there are disks that revolve around a star, this time we tell you that they can also revolve around an exoplanet! For the first hour! And it's not an ordinary record!

It is the first disk confirmed by researchers and scientists to form a moon around the planet. Theoretically so far there is no such thing in our thinking, now there is! One of the authors of the study, Myriam Benisty, from the University of Grenoble and the University of Chile, said that this is exactly what she wants through this study, to see if satellites can form around a planet through a disk. After some thorough research, researchers and scientists came up with approx. accurate, these calculations show that this dust disk has the power and matter to form approx. 3 months in the shape of our moon (of the Earth), in addition to this they came with a logical explanation, that this disk is made of cosmic dust (a particle of cosmic dust is approximately equal to 0.01 mm). This discovery is another step of humanity towards exploring space.

In addition there is a system there, formed by this planet PDS 70c and PDS 70b (it possible that can be exist more planets or stars). It is a system in formation and that is why it is so fascinating, it is the first in the history of mankind when such a system can be observed by humans, and researchers and scientists expect amazing discoveries in the future. Another study author said: "PDS 70b and PDS 70c, which form a system reminiscent of the Jupiter-Saturn pair, are the only two exoplanets detected so far that they are still in the process of being formed." said for the press, researcher Max Planck, Institute for Astronomy. Obs. these 2 exoplanets are approx. at 400-450 light-years from Earth (distance). It is believed that these two planets revolve around the star PDS 70. And it is believed that both are gas giants (planets).

We wish success to researchers and scientists in discovery!

If wonderful discoveries are made, we will let you know right away!
