Rock 2021 NY1 passed well on Earth

News! The space rock, which is three times the size of the Statue of Liberty, passed well on Earth. It didn't hit the Earth, everyone is safe, however, there was little chance of it hitting the Earth, even minimal. This rock is a celestial body called 2021 NY1. NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced that this rock is considered a Near-Earth (NEO) object, because it passed to approx. 190-195 million km from the Sun. It flew past the Earth well at a distance of approx. 900,000-1000000 miles (1,500,000-1,600,000 km). It flies at a speed of approx. of 33,800 km / h.

NEOs are bodies that fly farther from Earth and do not pose a threat. These are usually meteorits, asteroids, but also other celestial bodies. They have an orbit quite far from Earth, and when they approach, they are usually very far away. However, NASA is still studying them and studying all known NEOs so far (approx.) To see if their orbit suddenly changes. They do not pose a threat to Earth, but if their orbit suddenly changes, they can hit Earth, hopefully this will never happen and NASA will monitor them closely.

We wish success to NASA, its partners and those involved in such studies, to be able to complete them and to oversee these NEOs.
