Breaking news! The latest NASA announcements show that an asteroid, potentially dangerous to Earth, will enter Earth's bondage on December 11, 2021. At the same time, there are chances that they will hit us. If until now you saw that the chances of an asteroid hitting Earth are 0.000 ... 1, now it is 5% and so it was when the asteroid approached Earth a few years ago. The chances of 5% seem small, but it is not so. For an asteroid to have a 5% chance to hit Earth, they are not small, they are medium. The asteroid is the size of the Eiffel Tower in Paris (very large). and flies with approx. 14,700 mph (23,700 km / h).

The asteroid is called 4660 Nereus and has a length of 330 meters! NASA has told us not to panic, because most likely the asteroid will pass by the Earth, and the chances of hitting the Earth are not so high. The asteroid has a very high speed, which means that some pieces of it, such as rocks, may come off. They could fall to Earth, but they wouldn't hit him. Why? Because the rocks are so small that they disintegrate if they enter the atmosphere. There is a big difference between the calculations of space and your calculations.

As you have seen above, about the chances, you will hear that the asteroid will be at a distance of 10 Moon-Earth distance (approx.), Ie somewhere 3.86 million km. For many, it means a lot and you say that this asteroid can't get close to Earth. It's not like that. This distance in space, at the speed at which the asteroid travels, is very small. Not the slightest bit, but enough that there is a 5% chance that the Earth will be hit. The asteroid is the closest we've been to the last 20 years. We shouldn't be "very scared."

NASA has announced that its astronomers are monitoring the asteroid every day, so they will immediately see if it is heading for Earth or changing its orbit. Every 10 years, the asteroid comes close to Earth. That's why measurements are made every 10 years, to see how close it is. However, it has not been discovered 20 years ago, since then measurements have been made. It was discovered in 1982, almost 40 years ago.

So the asteroid will approach in 2031, but after that, these 10 years will change a little with a few months difference. So the next dates will be 2040, 2050, and 2060. In 2060, the asteroid will be extremely close to Earth. Every 10 years he gets closer. Maybe by 2100, it could be so close that it could be so dangerous. However, the asteroid would be a pretty good source of income. It is estimated that all the metals it has have a total value of approx. $ 4.71 billion.

We wish success to NASA and other people and agencies working on observing and studying the asteroid.
