With a new image from Mars, NASA makes it clear that the Perseverence rover cannot be separated from its new friend, which is a rock.

This rather large rock on Mars has been on the wheel of the Perseverence rover for more than 4 months when Perseverance has moved a lot on Mars.

It seems that this time spent on the rover took the rock a distance of 5.3 miles (8.5 kilometers) from where it was before it became a friend with Perseverance.

NASA has announced that the rock does not cause any damage or delay to the mission, so they may remain friends for a long time, until at some point it may fall.
