Tianwen 1 took a selfie in Martian orbit. It's still the trend for spacecraft, probes or even telescopes to take selfies, and Tianwen 1 has tried the same thing in Martian orbit, and the selfie is a success.

However, this new selfie is a "modern" one. Tianwen 1 did not do it anyway, but used a high-performance camera. According to engineers, his instrument was made of a shape memory alloy. And this instrument was folded on the probe just during launch. It weighs 800 grams, and when is fully developed, it reaches a maximum height of 1.6-1.7 m.

About the approx. 1.6 m was the instrument, when it took its selfie probe. No wonder the selfie came out very well, because the probe also makes some impressive images, plus so far it has been able to send approx. 600 GB of data to the team that controls it in just over a year.

We are waiting for more selfies from the probe or maybe even from China's Mars rover, Zhurong.
